Just thru the first hour and more of the third month, 2007.
According to wikipedia: 86 BC – Lucius Cornelius Sulla, at the head of a Roman Republic army, enters in Athens, removing the tyrant Aristion who was supported by troops of Mithridates VI of Pontus.
Also: Historically, March 1 was considered to be the beginning of the Roman ‘work year’.

Some various fact:
1781-The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation.
1790-Congress authorized the first U.S. census.
1848-Augustus Saint-Gaudens is born.
1990-Official Secrets Act (UK)
