the State has no money of its own, so it has no power of its own. ` Nock

If taxes were voluntary society would transform overnight.

Some people, especially those who like to say that the state is your friend, want to claim that opposition to paying taxes, inflation, and the politics of the current administration, is an example of naivity, partisanship, and a reactionary mentality. I would submit that to be true for many people. Unfortunately for such a position it doesn’t satisfy truer, more principled reasons given for such opposition. Of course, the reason for such obvious denial is probably due to the fact that some of the arguments that best describe said opposition can’t be refuted, so it’s easier to ignore them. I charge said folks as the pre-meditated reactionaries.

The foremost argument against taxes is that it is theft.

Look it up in a dictionary – it won’t disappoint

Of course, in this day and age people are trained to pray for statism – and the masses sacrifice voluntarism on the altar of compulsion.

And people thought language was supposed to mean something.

I think this would be tantamount to communism.
The problem is ‘communism’ is already a tainted word.
